As you've witnessed, Weebly recently made a massive update to our Store options. Our new Commerce features are so advanced beyond what we previously provided that it was impossible to maintain both the new system and the old at the same time. That's why your own store was upgraded to the new version.
We understand that no matter how many improvements we've made, such a big change can be jarring. Especially if you were hoping to just pop in and make a few changes to your site without thinking too much about it. But we promise that the upgrades are easy to use and so much better than our previous options that taking a few minutes to learn how to manage your products will make your store better than ever.
Let's start with the biggest change. Our classic Product element -- which you previously used to build your store -- is no longer the primary way to add products. And isn't even a necessary part of creating a store.
The Product Element now acts as a secondary display of products you've added through your Store tab. That's why you now see a "Connect Product" box whenever you drag a Product Element to a page.
This Connect Product option wants you to choose one of your already existing products to show off. But that's almost certainly not what you want to do; you want to add a new product! But how on earth do you do that?
The easiest way to do that is to click the New Product button that appears in the Connect Product dialog box shown above. But let's forget all about the Product Element for a moment and visit the Store tab. Go specifically to the Products section of Store.
You'll see all of your store's products listed in this section since we automatically imported them for you. You'll also see a button called Add Product. Click that, because it's now the best place to go when you want Add Products to a store.
This Add Product section is packed with simple to use features that our old element absolutely lacked. You can wow customers with multiple images, include selectable options like size and color, track inventory, sell digital downloads, manage sales tax, and add weight to help calculate shipping. Read our short Add Product Guide to learn how to use these features.
Once you add a product in this way, it'll show up as a selection in the Connect Product box when you drag the Product element to a page.
